Bodies Of Six Pakistanis Sent Back Home On Saturday
KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) -- The Pakistan High Commission has finalised arrangements to send home the bodies of six Pakistanis who died when their boat capsized near Johor Baharu in the early hours on Tuesday.
The Community Welfare Attache for the Pakistan High Commission, Nadeem Ashraf, said in a statement the emergency passport of Muhamad Aqeel Karkeen Quadir Hussien, 14, who survived the accident, had been prepared and a Special Pass (Exit Permission) from the Malaysian Immigration Authority has been obtained.
"The Pakistan High Commission has also moved the bodies from Johor Baharu to Kuala Lumpur and they are currently stored at a local hospital," he said here Thursday.
He said arrangements had been made to send the bodies and lone survivor, free of charge to Queta, Pakistan by Pakistan International Airline's (PIA) on Saturday.
"The flight will depart from KL International Airport at 1.10pm and would reach Karachi at 4pm. From Karachi the bodies will be flown to Quetta the following day by PIA flight at 8am," he said.
The family had the accident when they were travelling from south Johor to Teluk Ramunia on an excursion trip in a small overloaded boat.
There were 10 passengers on board including the driver. However, the whereabouts and nationalities of the others are not yet known.
The ill-fated boat capsized three miles south of Teluk Ramunia towards the South China Sea in the early hours, on Tuesday
